It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virgil Dean Joyner (Rocky Mount, North Carolina), who passed away on February 9, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Cecil Durwood Joyner. He is survived by: his daughters, McCauley Pearson (Samuel) and Kelly Lancaster (William); his grandsons, Chase and Harrison Lancaster; his mother Dorothy Marie Adkins Joyner; and his siblings, Angela Barnes (Bo), Kim Eason (Rodney) and Randy Joyner (Jennifer). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Butch's name to either Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306, or to the Nash County Sheriff's Department, P.O. Box 355, Nashville, NC 27856.
