He is survived by: his wife Joyce Sumner Massenburg; his children, Evie Carter (Bryce), Erica Joy Johnson (Cedric) and Sorell Sumner Massenburg (Nedra); his grandchildren, Xavier Johnson, Isaiah Carter, Isaiah Johnson, Robert Randolph, III, Joy Faith Johnson, Sorell David Massenburg, Noah Earl Johnson and Lola Mary Massenburg; his sisters, Ammie Everett, Minnie Silver (Julius), Mae Bell Lewis (Henry), Ann Sumner (Walter) and Brinda Massenburg; and his siblings-in-law, Lucille Massenburg, Gloria Richardson, Delinda Massenburg, Veronica Massenburg, Edith Battle (Van), Irene Woherem and Jeremiah Sumner (Doris). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
