She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar Washington Ivey, Sr. and Ruby Alice Stewart Ivey; her husband Lawrence Branch "L. B." Hagwood; and her siblings, Doris Ivey Chandler, Elizabeth Ivey Anascavage, Pearl Ivey Chandler, Edgar "Ed" Ivey, Jr. and Earl Ivey.
She is survived by: her sons, Lawrence "Mike" Hagwood (Eden) and William "Bill" Hagwood (Lynn); her grandchildren, Eva Hagwood, Nathan Hagwood, Lauren Mohns (David), Kelly Hagwood and Ivey Jean Hagwood; and her brother Kenny "Ken" Ivey. She is also survived by her five great grandchildren; her great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Alene's name to the Children's Ministries of Englewood United Methodist Church, 300 S Circle Dr, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
