He was predeceased by: his parents, Athe Morris Jeans and Lola Privette Jeans; his former wife Lois Inscoe Jeans; his grandson Braxton Jeans; and also, Dan Jeans and Steven Jeans.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Womble Jeans; his son Bruce Jeans; his grandchildren, Chrystal Bell, Nicholas Cottle and Steven Clark Jeans (Cassie); his great grandchildren, Cameron Bell (Amber), McKenzie Bell, Steven Clark Jeans, Jr., Kelsie Jeans, Nelson Jeans, Abigail Bell, Lea Cottle and Justin Raynor; his great great grandchild Carter Bell; and his sister Daphine "Carol" Castelluzzo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nelson's memory to Dortches Baptist Church.
