She was predeceased by: her parents, Mac Hicks and Elizabeth Hicks; and her son Johnnie Umphlet Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Johnnie Umphlet, Sr.; her daughters, Debbie Bone (Larry Sr.) and Rena Sherrod (Terry Sr.); her daughter-in-law Chris Umphlet; her grandchildren, Larry Bone Jr. (Michelle), Terry Sherrod Jr., Stephanie Sherrod, Jessica Bone, Jeremy Sherrod, Emily Sherrod, Lindsey Price, Kaitlyn Umphlet, Casey Sherrod (Allison) and Cody Sherrod; her great grandchildren, Skylar, Justin, Wallace, Logan, Aiden, Cambrie, Mason, Easton, Oakley, Johnnie, Alex and Nathan; and her siblings, Mona Bollinger and Sammy Hicks (Patsy). She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Atrium Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1130 N Winstead Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27804). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Chapel Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1130 N Winstead Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27804). A burial was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Rocky Mount Memorial Park (4454 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804).
