He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ray Harper, Sr. and Patricia "Pat" Clack Harper. He is survived by: his wife Susan Angello Harper of Rocky Mount; his siblings, Martin Lee Harper (Joyce) of Denver, NC, Joseph "Joey" Ray Harper, Jr. (April) of Red Oak and Sandra Harper Fuller (Tim) of Anderson, SC; his brother-in-law John Robert Angello; and his canine fur-childrens, Linus and Lucy. He is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and good friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Benvenue Baptist Church (2464 Benvenue Rd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Rocky Mount Memorial Park (4454 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804).
