He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Vernon Wooten and Celia Elizabeth McKee; and his stepmother Mary Wooten. He is survived by: his children, Tammy Hoback (Roger) of Rocky Mount, James Ray Wooten II (Sherry) of Nashville and Jennifer Joyner (Charles) of Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, Sara Newman (Drew), Erin Ferrell (Michael), Jonathan Langrehr (Kristen) and Brittney Wells (Tyler); his great grandchildren, Dylan Newman, Preston Newman, Connor Newman, Colton Ferrell, Eli James Ferrell, Lawson Ferrell, Jase Langrehr, Carson Langrehr and Kaisley Ray Wells; and his siblings, Larry Wooten and Susan Waters (Johnny). He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
