It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Douglas Pittman of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, who passed away on October 6, 2023, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Mary Edith and Doug Powell; his uncle John Powell; his cousin David Powell; and his father-in-law Lindy Dunn.

He is survived by: his parents, Sheila Powell Martin (Jim) of Rocky Mount and Thomas Lynn Pittman (Mona) of Chesapeake, VA; his wife Janie Mac Dunn Pittman of Rocky Mount; his children, Lindy Pittman (Emory Pittman) of Boston, MA and Jack Pittman; his sister Jan Powell Robillard (Andrew) of Rocky Mount; his mother-in-law Pattie Dunn of Rocky Mount; his sister-in-law Genie Dunn Andracchio (Vince) of Rocky Mount; his nieces and nephews, Ann Dunn Andracchio, Mary Douglas Robillard, Tripp Andracchio, Brice Andracchio and Will Robillard; and his cousin Doug Powell.
