He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Stevenson Melton; his children, Gene Melton, II and Myra LeAnn Melton; his sister Margaret Melton Taylor (Glenn); his sister-in-law Judy Melton; and his caregiver Della Mangum. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
