He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Nathaniel Stancil and Naomi Bobbitt Stancil; and his siblings, Margie Stancil Strickland, Durrell Stancil and Roger Stancil.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Stephens Stancil of Rocky Mount; his children, Jenny Joyner Cash (Wesley) of Rocky Mount and Fred Stancil (Diane) of Apex, NC.; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole Stancil and Kaleb Joyner. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
