He is survived by: his wife Retha G. Pappas; his children, Harry J. Pappas (Karen) of Holly Springs, NC, Athena P. Lien (David) of Augusta and Melissa B. Beard of New Bern, NC; his siblings, Panagiota Ellis, Katania Batten and Demetrious "Jimmy" Pappas (Nancy); and his grandchildren, Kristian Lien (Kayla), Brianna Lien, Maria Pappas, John "Benjamin" Beard, Elsie "Elizabeth" Beard and Claire Pappas.
