She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Hopkins Petteway and James Stokes; her children, Paulina Parker, Leroy Hopkins, Johnnie Gardner Jr. and Johnny Parker Jr.; her sisters, Louise Petteway and Blanche Dickens Martin; her grandson Tony Hopkins; her great grandchild Dearia Takayla Davis; and her brothers, Ashley Petteway Jr., Augusta Petteway and James Petteway.
She is survived by: her children, Blanche White of Rocky Mount, NC, Shirley Pitt (Freddie) of Bethel, NC, Eve Gardner of Rocky Mount, NC, Carolyn Sanchez (Pedro) of Middlesex, NC, Vickie Gardner of Rocky Mount, NC, Charles Parker (Angela) of Rocky Mount, NC and Dyron "Clee" Parker (Sparkle) of Rocky Mount, NC; her siblings, Rosa Lee Petteway, Mary Smith of Greenville, NC and Kenneth Petteway (Sylvia) of Greenville, NC; her aunts, Clara Ampley of Wilson, NC and Laura Hopkins of Bethel, NC; her grandchildren, Jerome William, Dequan White (Kim), Demetrice Gardner (Gwendolyn), Andre Gardner and Jasmine Sanchez; and her close friend Ma Tiny. She is also survived by loving great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Rocky Mount Chapel of H. D. Pope Funeral Home (325 Nash St, Rocky Mount, NC 27804). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
