He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Simms and Louise A. Simms. He is survived by: his wife Polly A. Simms; his children, Pamela Meadows, Sharon Simms, Dewnesia Simms, Mike Simms and Daniel Simms; his siblings, Mattie R. Simms, Blondell Simms and Marvin Ray Simms; his stepbrother Larry Jones; and his brother-in-law Roy Kelly. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Barnes Funeral Home (4120 S Hathaway Blvd, Sharpsburg, NC 27878). Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Bethlehem Association Center (3033 Bynum Farm Rd, Pinetops, NC 27864). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
