She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Whitby and Liza Draper Whitby; and her husband C. W. Bristow. She is survived by: her daughters, Amy Bristow Powell (Charles) of Memphis, TN and April Bristow-Smith (Matt) of Rocky Mount, NC; her grandchildren, Seth Cooper (Kimber), Emily Cooper (Nathan), Emily Gill (Bradley), Sydney Bristow-Smith and Sophie Bristow-Smith; and her sister Rosa Whitby. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cedarwood Cemetery (1100 W 4th St, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870).
