She was predeceased by: her parents, William Theophilus "Offie" Best and Carrie Lee Best; her husband George Edward Hollowell; and her siblings, Geraldine Hortense Best Benson, Seth Walter Best and William Nelson Best.
She is survived by: her sons, Brian Edward Hollowell and Christopher Michael "Chris" Hollowell (Lisa); her grandchildren, Kent Hollowell, Kara Hollowell Beck (William), Melissa Pittman, Taylor Hollowell and Roland Hollowell; and her brothers, Josephus "Joe" Best (Jessie) and Gordon Lee Best (Arlene). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dearest friends.
A memorial service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services (1130 N Winstead Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27804). Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home (1130 N Winstead Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27804).
