He was predeceased by: his father John O. Smith, Jr.; and his grandparents, John Odell, Anna Smith and Bernice Vanhoy. He is survived by: his mother Victoria Vanhoy Bassinger (Stan Bassinger); his siblings, Renae File (Johnnie), David Smith (Lorie), Richard Smith (Veronica) and Jeremy Smith (Laura); his stepson Jacob Keever (Brittany); his nieces and nephews, Katelin Clay, Abby Bagwell, Madison Straight, Olivia Lewis, Hadassah Smith, Anna Smith, Parker Smith and Hunter Smith; and his wife Michelle. He is also survived by four great nieces; one great nephew, and two step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Powles Staton Funeral Home (913 W Main St, Rockwell, NC 28138). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 14th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Restoration Church (795 Cannon St, Rockwell, NC 28138).
