He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Franklin Willis, Sr.; and his brother Scott Willis. He is survived by: his mother Peggy Boger Willis; his wife Donna Cantrell Willis; his children, Jennifer Lynn Willis of Troutman and Anthony Wren Willis of Mint Hill; his siblings, Junior Willis of Kannapolis, Peggy Sue Brindle of Kannapolis, Connie Ritchie of Kannapolis and Lisa Ritchie of Kannapolis; and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Anderson of Granite Quarry, Debbie Vickers of Granite-Quarry and Johnny Cantrell of Brevard. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
