It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Horton Goodman of Rockwell, North Carolina, born in China Grove, North Carolina, who passed away on July 25, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Locke Horton and Altha Lee Cooke Horton; her husband James "Jim" Goodman; and her siblings, James Horton, Harry Horton, William DeWitt Horton, John Horton, Opal Horton Ritchie, J. P. Horton, David Horton, Ralph Horton, Ray Horton, Kermit Horton and Kenneth Horton.
She is survived by: her children, Billy Goodman, Lu Ann Putnam and Terry Goodman; her grandchildren, Dillon Goodman, Chelsea Williams, Kristin Miller, Addie Blair, Madison Putnam, Brittany Jeno and Lauren Dwyer; and her great grandchildren, Judah Miller, Carly Cassels and Harrison Goodman.
