It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Ophelia Chastain of Rockwell, North Carolina, born in Gold Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on February 13, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Boyd Lee Taylor and Ophelia Galloway Taylor Morgan; and her sister Tina Mae Taylor. She is survived by: her son Robert Webb-Nancy (Salisbury); her siblings, Steve Taylor-Nancy (Gold Hill), Sherry Kocsis-Mike (Alexis), Robert Taylor-Rita (Rockwell) and Roger Taylor-Donna (Salisbury); her grandchildren, Jean-Luc (Salisbury), Emily Kelly-Steven (Iron Station) and Caitlin (Hickory); and her great grandchild Hailey. She is also survived by her son, grandchildren, and great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family, in order to honor Rita's life and legacy, requests that all donations to be made to the Gideon Bibles.
