He was predeceased by: his parents, Gillie Broadnax and Dorothy Broadnax; and his sister Charlotte Shuff. He is survived by: his niece Patrina Strong; his nephew Reginald "Jermaine" Broadnax; his great-niece Miracle Blacktock; his sisters, Marjorie Scales, Dale Aiken, Cynthia Carter and Mena Broadnax; and his close friend Neecey.
