He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Barton and Arzella Locklear Barton; his daughter Sarah Caroline Barton; and his siblings, Herbert Barton, Larry Barton, Catherine Hunt and Hazel Caulder.
He is survived by: his daughters, Elizabeth Ann Barton of Center, TX and Rebecka Ard (Justin) of Rockingham, NC; his grandson Brandon Lee Cummings of Rockingham, NC; his close friend Kimberly Goodman of Center, TX; his niece Joelanda Hunt of Bennettsville; and his close friend Tammy Steptoe of Center, TX. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Burroughs Funeral Home (688 Beauty Spot Rd E, Bennettsville, SC 29512).
