He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Albert and Willie Victoria Simpson Bittle; his wives, Geraldine and Rachel; and his siblings, Thomas, Woodrow, Dewey Bittle, Colene Young, Willie Mae Boling and Elsie Callahan.

He is survived by: his son Alan Bittle; his grandson Chris Bittle; and his nieces and nephews, Patti, Chuck Conner, Kathy and Donnie Gillam.

Memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 US Hwy 1 N. Rockingham, NC 28379.
