She was predeceased by: her parents, R. Allan Welch and Hazel Hancock Welch; and her husband Earl Wesley Yates. She is survived by: her children, Amy Yates Bryan of Raleigh, Allan Yates of Granite Falls and Susan Yates McDonald (Eddie) of Rockingham; her grandchildren, Sarah-Kathryn Yates Bryan, Wesley Yates, Adrian Yates, Ethan McDonald, Cooper McDonald, Carly McDonald and Kate McDonald; and her sisters, Nancy Crowe and Martha Allen (Lea). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made out to Richmond County Hospice, at 1119, US HWY 1, Rockingham, NC 29379.
