With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Laurence Bowden of Rockingham, North Carolina, born in Wilmington, North Carolina, who passed away on September 19, 2023 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence Bowden and Nancy Cheek Bowden; his brother Michael Bowden; and his son Chuck Bowden. He is survived by: his wife Patty O'Brien Bowden; his son Larry Bowden Jr.; his grandchildren, Gage Jones, Jaxon Bowden, Kaleigh Bowden and Kennedi Bowden; and his brothers, Kevin Bowden and Keith Bowden.

Due to his sudden passing, in lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests that memorial donations be made out to Watson-King Funeral Home to go toward funeral costs.
