He is survived by: his wife Sherry Cooke Summersett; his children, Carla Summersett Bittle (Ken) of Hamlet, John Summersett II (Lesley) of Rockingham and Samuel Brett Summersett of Rockingham; his grandchildren, Destiny, Isaiah, Elijah, Jenna, Joseph, Garret, Dylan and Kirsten; his siblings, Ronnie Summersett and Joy Summersett Smith; and his friend Bobby Ingram.
