It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan McDonald Woods of Rockingham, North Carolina, who passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbert Wilson McDonald and Lottie Ruth McDonald; her husband Jerry Woods; and her sister Brenda Potter. She is survived by: her children, Teresa Baxley, Beth Steen (Chuck Yow) and Phil Woods; her sisters, Emma Smith, Janice Starling, Priscilla Herring, Vickie McDonald and Carla King; her sister-in-law Marselle Bowman; and her grandchildren, Christopher Baxley, Sid Steen, Jessica Steen, Jennifer Steen and Lawson Woods.
In addition to flowers, the family would like memorial donations to be made out to Richmond County Hospice Haven at 1119 N. US 1 HWY Rockingham, North Carolina.
