He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Durant Tanner and Sara Sanford Tanner; and his brother Sammy Tanner. He is survived by: his siblings, Christine Tanner Huguelet of Hamlet, Bobby Tanner (Kathy) of Jacksonville and Nan Tanner Freeman (Creed) of Rockingham. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
