With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bishop Fred Shirlen Fisher of Rockingham, North Carolina, born in Nashville, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 13, 2024 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his father Fred Fisher; his son Fred Shirlen Fisher, Jr.; his mother Mattie Lillian Reed Fisher; and his siblings, Nadiene Smith, Ruth Mooneyham and James "Jim" Fisher.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Bunton Fisher; his daughter Yvonne Fisher Gilmer (Steven); his grandchildren, Stuart Gilmer (Casi), Kyle Gilmer (Stephanie), Alea Petersen (Grant) and Conrad Fisher; his great grandchildren, Mallory, Maddux, Noah and Boston Gilmer; and his siblings, Rebecca Sample and William "Buck" Fisher.
