She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Claude and Katie Mae Rozier Dawkins; her husband Carl Wesley "Buck" Hodges; her son Richard McIntyre, Jr.; and her siblings, Charles Dawkins, James Dawkins and Sylvia Peterson.
She is survived by: her children, Clay McIntyre (Shannon), Runa Chavis and Prestie Smith; her grandchildren, Tara Andrews, Halie Workman, Ashleigh McLean, Samantha McIntyre, Ricky McIntyre, Chris Chavis, Brittany Chavis, Aaron Henry, Sam Smith Jr. and Brianna Smith; and her half-sisters, Rita Hurst and Brenda Hopkins. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at the Carter Funeral Homes- Rockingham (705 S Caroline St, Rockingham, NC 28379). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
