He was predeceased by: his parents, Sallie Locklear and Douglas Locklear; his siblings, Willie Locklear, David Locklear, Minnie Locklear, Nancy Clark, Doug Locklear and Sallie Mae Wright; and his former wife Nancy Locklear.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Locklear; his daughters, Linda Locklear Grubbs (Don) of Rockingham and Jean Locklear Evers of Bennettsville; his grandchildren, Hope Clark (Michael) of Laurinburg, Heidi Grubbs (Rick) of Laurinburg, Hillary Dachs (Luke) of Nashville and Heather Butdorf (Matt) of Bluffton; his great grandchildren, Zachary and Madeline Butdorf; his stepchildren, Norman Odom (Wendy), Theodore Odom (Laura), Tim Odom and Patsy Odom (George); and his stepgrandchildren, Melissa Odom, Laura Odom, Krissanie Mabe, Princeton Mabe, Brysen Mabe, Chris Odom, Shawn Odom, Renesmee Odom and Mala'khi Odom.
In addition to flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made out to King's Gate Church Food Bank at 161 Sierra Ave, Hamlet, NC 28345.
