He was predeceased by: his parents, Jarvis Whitfield and Pitt Whitfield; and his sister Anna Fleming. He is survived by: his children, Johnny Whitfield (Becky) of Louisburg, Lee Whitfield (Karen) of Williamston, Janet Whitfield of Holly Springs and Jennifer Whitfield (Jay Derrick) of Lake Royale; his granddaughters, Anna Kate W. Frost (Michael) and Pitt Whitfield; and his great grandchild Eleanor Frost.
