With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Denyse McLawhorn Smith (Robersonville, North Carolina), who passed away on September 3, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dennis T. McLawhorn and Madge Watkins Jenkins McLawhorn; and her husband Irving Lee Smith, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Irving Lee Smith, III (Frieda) of Robersonville, Charles Gilbert Smith (Jody) of Morehead City, Robert Lawrence Smith (Janet) of Everetts and Dennis McLawhorn Smith (Michelle) of Grimesland; and her grandchildren, Caroline Smith Pelletier (Josh), Jena Smith Corey (Lewis), Sally Smith Grimes (Travis), Charles Gilbert Smith, Jr., William Gray Smith (Allie), Emmaline Jenkins Smith, Robert Lawrence Smith, Jr. (Lacey), Dennis McLawhorn Smith, Jr. and Cooper Langeraap Smith.
