She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Carpenter and Sarah Jane Farley Carpenter; and her brother Gary Carpenter. She is survived by: her children, Darrell (Rhonda Waldroup) of Robbinsville, NC, Candy (Paul Sefcik) and Melissa (Mark Ammons); her siblings, Tommy Carpenter of Robbinsville, NC and Kitty Williams of Robbinsville, NC; her grandchildren, Haley (Brandon Lovin), Brooke (Bo Coats), Rebecca (Brian Howell) and Cain (Alyssa Ammons); her great grandchildren, Cambrie, Carson, Luke, Linaysha, Yei, Bryce, Bella and Ava; her grandchildren, Katie Shuler, Krissy Gossett, Cruz Williams, Josh Carpenter, Jeremy Carpenter and Rocky Carpenter; and also, Kourtney, Gavin, Carter, Zaylee, Zyler, Taelyn, Court, Liz and Tyler. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
