He was predeceased by: his mother Judith Tesner Payne. He is survived by: his wife Rachel Payne; his children, Ben Payne and Anna Payne; his father Harry Payne; and his siblings, Kim, Kevin and Kenneth Payne.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Swain County Cross Country and Track and Field ring fund at Swain County High School or central office.
