He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam S. Deyton of Yancey County, NC and Flonnie Collins Deyton of Graham County, NC.; his wife Sue Garland Deyton; and his siblings, Ralph, Claude, Tommy Deyton, Betty Hill, Betsy Bonebrake, Rena Jurney and Fannie Hartness.
He is survived by: his close friend Lucy McClung of Robbinsville, NC; his daughter Theresa "Bubbles" Deyton of Robbinsville, NC; and his granddaughter Amber Beasley of Laurens, SC..
