It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald P. Colvard of Robbinsville, North Carolina, born in Graham, North Carolina, who passed away on December 19, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jefferson Colvard and Maude Phillips Colvard; the mother of his children Ruth Hardin Colvard; his wife Vernell Carver Colvard; his son Gary Lamar Colvard; his daughter-in-law Angie Colvard; his great grandchild Lane Adams; and his siblings, Inez Buchanan, Fannie Hyde and Jimmy Colvard.
He is survived by: his children, Larry (Juanita Colvard), Tony Colvard, Phillip H. Colvard of Robbinsville, NC, Donna (David Adams) and Naomi (Joe Edwards); his daughter-in-law Cathy Colvard of Robbinsville, NC; his sister Evelyn Flores; and his stepchildren, Sandra Carver of Robbinsville, NC, Allen, Peggy Carver of Robbinsville, NC, Dottie, Sonny Vuick, Ruby and Jim Lequire. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
The family has requested that anyone wishing to attend the services please wear a mask and be mindful of social distancing protocols due to immune compromised immediate family members.
One of Donald's favorite quotes was "Give Flowers to the Living.," so in his memory the family requests, that in lieu of flowers you commit a random act of kindness or give to someone in need.
