He is survived by: his brother Darrell; his sister-in-law Mary Nelms of Robbinsville, NC; his sisters, Patsy Nelms (Bob Lyerly) and Robin (Ned Long); and his nephew Shane McMonigle (Brian Stevens). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
