He was predeceased by: his parents, John Burrell and Ellen Bridges Burrell; and his siblings, Junior Byers, Robert Burrell, John Burrell, Jerry Burrell, Joe Burrell, Cotton Burrell, Ruby Farrell, Lou Knight, Dorothy Kovack and Euna Mae "Sis" Waldroup.

He is survived by: his sister Cathy; his brother-in-law Buzz Morgan of Robbinsville, NC; his nephew Jimmy (Melanie Morgan); his niece Angel Morgan; and his brother-in-law Joe Waldroup of Robbinsville, NC. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
