He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Adams and Clara Smith Adams; his siblings, Herman Lee Adams, Leona Cooper and Gladys Jenkins of Iowa; his son-in-law Tommy Hooper; and his granddaughter Cynthia Marie Braswell.
He is survived by: his children, James Benny Nichols (Nancy), Ann Marie Hooper, Cynthia Cheryl Fraizer (John), Ben P. Adams Jr. (Vickey) and Vickie Adams West (Jeff); and his brother J. C. Adams. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
