It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Theron Caviness (Robbins, North Carolina), who passed away on February 16, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wives, Geneva Maness Caviness and Mary Chriscoe Caviness; his parents, Yancey Caviness and Ada Williams Caviness; and his siblings, Devonia Ritter, Leon Caviness and Winfred Caviness.
He is survived by: his children, Evon Caviness of Robbins and Elton T. Caviness (Cindy) of Linville Falls, NC; his stepchildren, Tonia Davis of Asheboro, Jeff Potts (Linda) of Seagrove and Sam Potts of Atlantic Beach; and his grandchildren, Jason Caviness, Trisha Caviness-Bliss and Beth DeBerry. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "The Theron Caviness Best Banjo Player Award of the Evening," which is awarded at the annual Highfalls Fiddlers Convention, c/o Fidelity Bank, 520 North Main Street, Biscoe, NC 27209.
