She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Robert; her children, Rodney (Joanne) and Kim Bates (Tracy); her grandchildren, Dylan Bates (Shannon, Lane Bates), Jordan Scott, Alison Bates and Jayden Scott; and her sisters, Gayle Cox, Shirley Long, June Pruitt and Magdalene Donavant. She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and friends.
