He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Clinton and Lura Stone Alexander; his wife Thelma Ester Alexander; and his sons, Barry Douglas Alexander and John Carroll Alexander.
He is survived by: his children, Vanessa Kay Alexander Weisner (Reggie) of Statesville and Rick E. Alexander (Louise) of Wilkesboro; his daughter-in-law Karen Alexander of State Road; his grandchildren, Penny Louise Alexander-Crump (Brian), Brian Douglas Alexander (Carla), Matthew Weisner (Jennifer) and Adam Weisner (Sara); and his great grandchildren, Bryson Alexander Crump, Brantley Alexander, Hannah Alexander, Mackenna Weisner, Hudson Weisner, Ava Lynn Weisner, Elle Ana Weisner, Isabella Rae Weisner and Piper Jo Weisner.
