He is survived by: his wife Amanda Combs Byrd of Roaring River; his son Matthew Byrd of Roaring River; his stepdaughter Ashley Taylor of Elkin; his siblings, Judith Foster (James) of Boomer and Eric Byrd of Roaring River; and his mother-in-law Maidron Combs of Jonesville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
