He is survived by: his children, Lori LeVel Porter of Roaring River, William Clayton "Billy" Porter (Misty) of Roaring River and Cary Lance Porter of Roaring River; his granddaughter Emily Stanley (Andrew) of Mt. Airy; his siblings, Larry Porter of North Wilkesboro, Don Porter of Roaring River, Gary Porter of Roaring River, Nancy Minton of North Wilkesboro, Elaine Poplin of North Wilkesboro and Barbara Farmer of North Wilkesboro; and his close friend Betty Donham. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
