He was predeceased by: his parents, Odell Scott Blackburn and Dova Evelyn Waddell Blackburn. He is survived by: his wife Ella Jean Thomas Blackburn; his brothers, Irvin Blackburn of Roaring River and Nicky Blackburn (Joyce) of Wilkesboro; his stepson Jamey Thomas of Roaring River; and his granddaughter Baylie Thomas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
