She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Johnson and Lula Cothren Johnson; the father of her children Rex Sparks; her grandson Alvin Sparks; and her siblings, Burton Johnson, Kenny Johnson and Nelta Ingold.

She is survived by: her husband Franklin "Delano" Oakley of Roaring River; her sons, Michael Sparks (Debbie) of Roaring River and Tommy Sparks (Teresa) of Roaring River; her sisters, Sue Shew of Roaring River, Ada Sheets of Wilkesboro and Ruby Walsh (Wade) of North Wilkesboro; her grandsons, Matthew Sparks of Maryland, Patrick Sparks (Elizabeth) of Hendersonville and Nicholas Sparks of Roaring River; and her great grandchildren, Bryson Sparks, Brady Sparks, Whitley Sparks and Julian Sparks.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Service (180 Sparta Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Chapel (180 Sparta Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659).
