He was predeceased by: his parents, Okey Payne and Josie Payne; his daughter Susan; and his siblings, Melissa Gum, Ulysses Payne, Franklin Payne and John Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Jean; his daughters, Nancy Rapp (David) of Charlottesville, VA and Sandra Fambrough (David) of Asheboro, NC; his grandsons, Benjamin and Corban Rapp; his siblings, Mary Jo Morris (Glenn) of Rockbridge, OH and Lowell Payne of Sissonville, WV; his niece Shelby Morris; and his nephews, Buren and Pat Payne. He is also survived by his wife, daughters, and especially his two grandsons.
