He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollie Newell and Geraldine Johnson Patterson; and his brothers, Buster Patterson and David Patterson. He is survived by: his daughters, Danielle Shaw (Joe), Heather Patterson, Amber Patterson (Joey Scott) and Meagan (Michael Scott); his siblings, Ray Patterson (Donna) and Kay Patterson Starbird (Rodney); his sister-in-law Lorraine Hopkins of Savanah Georgia; his grandchildren, Makayla (Anthony Jones), Luke Pair, Hayley Shaw, Jay Simmons Jr., Harley Simmons and Cole Brooks; and his great grandchildren, Emberlyn, Alaiyah and Ella.
