He is survived by: his wife Brenda West; his children, Sammy "Cut Buddy", Steve West (Tammy) of Littleton and Brenda Kinton (Lee) of Youngsville; his grandchildren, Ashley West of Littleton and Brian Kinton (Madison) of Youngsville; and his siblings, Joe West (Gail) of Roanoke Rapids, Patricia "Pat" Collins (Elliot) of Emporia, Linda O'Briant (Thad) of Roanoke Rapids and Sheila "Kay" Ross of Roanoke Rapids.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church in memory of Sambo.
