It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sally Ray Warren of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, who passed away on June 4, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Whitley Draper and Louise Millikin Draper; her former husband David Crockett Clark, Jr.; and her daughter Lillian Clark Hill. She is survived by: her husband George Clifton Warren, Jr. (G. C.); her stepdaughter Laura Ann McWhorter; her son-in-law Dan McWhorter; her grandsons, Carter and Warren McWhorter; her sister Peggy Coker; her brother-in-law Jimmy Coker; and her brother Johnny Draper. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“Please accept our deepest sympathy for the loss of your precious Sally Ray. She was dearly loved by both my parents, Jack and Linda Rice. My father fondly referred to her as “quite a bird” and to my mother she was a faithful Ya-Ya. Sally Ray was a lovely, gracious lady who brought a sparkle to every space she inhabited. She will be deeply missed.”
